- Pay online through your banking institution - you will need your City of Trail Utilities Invoice Account Number, included on your invoice (do not include the spaces) - allow for sufficient time for your payment to process before the due date.
- Pay at Trail City Hall with cash, cheque, debit card, Mastercard or Visa (a 2.4% service charge will be added to credit card payments). We are open Monday through Friday 9 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Credit card payments can be made online with a convenience fee of 2.4%.
Home Owner Grant
The Home Owner Grant is a provincial program that helps reduce the amount of residential property tax you pay. You must apply every year directly with the Province of British Columbia before paying your annual property taxes.

Residents in all BC municipalities who are eligible for the Home Owner Grant apply directly to the province using an online system that’s easy to use. It is available at www.gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant
- You will be asked to enter the Jurisdiction. Enter 232 on this line.
- You will be asked to enter your Roll Number. Enter the Roll No. shown on the top right of your Property Tax Notice. Do not include the first 0 (zero).
By phone
The province will also accept Home Owner Grant applications by phone at 1-888-355-2700 Monday though Friday 8 AM to 5 PM (closed on stat holidays).
